We have been busy over at WishlistGeeks with some custom development work . However, when asked by our buddies over at MacSupportCasts.com, to revamp their wordpress site , how could we refuse!

The main mission here was to remove some of the ‘fat’, simplify layout and presentation and to use the Headway Theme framework.

I recently had the pleasure of being involved with my good colleague Larry Pollock in a major re-work of Carra Riley’s blog Cosmic Cow Pie. This was going to include migrating from Blogger (blogspot) to WordPress and a whole host of extras to give Carra a stable and robust platform to work from.

Carra wanted to get a fresh look for her blog and book that she sells in a number of channels (digital and hard-copy) as well as having the ability to discuss with her customers the various chapters and having the option to add a membership site at a later stage.

However, I just had to let you all see the new look for the Visual Editor in Headway Themes v1.5.5 Beta. The version in 1.5.1 was great but it simply just gets better .

It is almost a day before the special ‘early bird’ offer on the very first WishList Member Certification course expires and when the classes kick off on Decmber 2nd..

In preparation of this, I thought I would share some tips/thoughts on what I am doing to get ready for this training exercise . First of all though, here are some suggestions for two groups:

If you are new to Wishlist , WordPress and are using the course to build your site as you go along then I would suggest you setup the following in advance of Day One at school.

What about this site, well this is powered by the nice Headway Theme and on and off in between doing other things too a couple of days to finalise (the initial concept was beaten out in 30 minutes ) but fine tuning and so on is still on going.
